Oh How I Love Blue...
Today I am linking up with Smiling Sally for Blue Monday. I just love the color blue for decorating. I don't wear much blue other than blue jeans. But blue and white is such a classic when it comes to decorating, in my opinion. It has been around for centuries. Martha Washington owned blue Canton wear that is still being produced today! I have so much blue that I have decided to give everyone a sneak peek into my living room. Please remember before you start on your tour that this home isn't ours, we are just humble occupants of a 125 year old adobe home. So no painting of the walls is allowed. :( Also, if I happened to snap a part of that chandelier in a photo, that too belongs to the government. ( I tried not to get it in ANY photo!) OK, lets begin...
Most of what you see I purchased from thrift stores here in the US and from markets and in Beijing and Bangkok. If any of you ever travel to Beijing, the Dirt Market is an most amazing market, second only to the Chatuchak Market, largest outdoor market in the world, which is located in downtown Bangkok. I could spend days in both markets!!! We have been fortunate enough to be stationed close enough so that we could travel to both countries. You know my priorities were straight, because all I wanted to do was shop!!
Next week, I'll post more pictures of my blue living room.
Please don't forget to visit Smiling Sally and see all the other great blue posts. : )

Very beautiful decorations in blue.
I love blue too, but I use it for everything. My husband probably wishes I could limit it to pretty pieces like yours. Happy blue Monday.
I love your Asian pottery and I love the way you decorate. Beautiful blue and white accessories!...Christine

I love your blue in your living room, especially the Asian accents. Blue and white china are one of my favorites to decorate with.
There is so much to love in this post! Your pottery is beautiful, the blue books are very interesting, and that gorgeous piece (not sure what it is but I love it) with the plates hung around it is to die for! I like the way you balanced it with the plates. Oh, and the tassel over it is such a nice touch.
Happy Blue Monday!

A beautiful showing of a very pretty variety of blues.
I love the blue touches you have in the your living room. You've made a gracious and beautiful home for your family. Isn't the Dirt Market fabulous? We spent a week in Bejing and got to know a little about the city. We never got to the market in Bangkok as we were only there for a couple of tightly scheduled days. I hope you have a wonderful Blue Monday. Blessings...Mary
