Nifty Thrifty Tuesday

Today I'm participating in my first Nifty Thrifty Tuesday over at Linda's blog, Coastal Charm.

As I continue to prepare for our 13th move in 22 years, I am constantly picking up and wrapping something that I remember purchasing.  Most of these purchases were made at a thrift store, auction, estate sale, rummage sale or yard sale.  It really got me thinking... what is my best thrifty purchase ever??  After much thought I decided my best deal and most loved "purchase" would be a chandelier.  I purchased it in 2004 at a Methodist Church rummage sale in Arlington, VA.  The sale was spread out on the front lawn of the church.  As I browsed, I spotted a box and sitting inside of it was the chandelier.  I was so excited when I saw it!  I wanted to sit down and count to make sure all the crystals were in the box, as many of them were laying on the bottom of the box and not actually attached to the fixture.  I decided against counting and thought it best to pay and get on out of there!! I present to you my find among finds....

The shades were not part of the deal.  I purchased them at Lowe's on clearance for $3.00 each.
The chandelier is marked Italy and every crystal was in that box!  I don't know much about it but I know I love it and I only paid $10.00 for it!!!

Now to prove to some folks out there that I am actually packing I present to you my dining room...

Ahh the joys of military life!  : )  Have a wonderful day and don't forget to check out other Nifty Thrifty's at
Linda's blog par-tay .

Ah, packing, one huge job! I moved around a bit, 5 times in 18 years. I always enjoyed the unpacking. Good luck with your move.

Cheers!

I love those shades! it really dressed up the chande. I have a close friend who has moved 12 times in 15 years...her husband works in retail and was working his way up the corporate ladder...he is there and I guess it was all worth it. I think moving is a fun adventure...Best wishes.

It looks like you have been busy. Are you ready for that all to be gone yet? Be careful with that chandelier, for it is a beautiful one.
