Drying Dishes

Drying dishes is always a chore.

Using a dish towel to dry those dishes is a necessity.

Back in the day, many a housewife took time to make her dish towels prettier.

Why settle for a plain piece of cloth when one can pass the chore away with such beauties....

Awww...much better!

I think there is a sink full of dishes calling my name!!

I'm linking this post up to Sue's Blog, It's A Very Cherry World, for her very popular meme...Rednesday!! Come on over and join in the fun. :o)

I'll see you there, that is after I finish the dishes.

Fondly,
Ann

What a lovely collection you have. My mother used to sit and embroidery dish towels. I made a set for my daughter one Christmas and she said I don't have room to display these I told her they are to use not look at.

Look at you with the new blog "do". Very nice.
Thanks so much for sharing those cute dish towels with us for Rednesday. I have a few that I think came from my grandmother but nothing as cute as the one with cherries. ;-)

Yes, I think I would have to display these and use my old ratty towels for the dishes! Actually, I hardly ever dry mine with a towel! they are allowed to "air dry" :)

The strawberry towel is my favorite. I have several strawberry items in my kitchen. ♥

They are so pretty. I think I would want to hang them somwhere for everyone to see. I would use them too though. I don't have a dishwasher because I like doing the dishes and those dishtowels would definitely make the job more cheerier.

What a nice collection! Mister hand-washes much more than I do and he prefers terrycloth. But that doesn't stop me from getting vintage towels here and there!

Hi Ann,

I adore all of your dish clothes. I've been collecting vintage embroidery transfers for a decade or so..they are so charming.

Thanks so much for visiting with me...you come back anytime.

Oh, and I'm the daughter of a retired military father. He was in the Air Force throughout my childhood. He retired with 24 years active duty when I was 12 years old...but I continued to travel the rest of my life for one reason or another. I've finally stopped almost two years ago.

Hugs,
Stephanie ♥
