Blue Monday

While we were stationed in Korea we were very fortunate to have a wonderful gift shop on the base, The Chosun Gift Shop.  It was the sole fund raising arm of the American Forces' Spouses' Club there in Seoul. For two years I served as Vice President for the board that governed the gift shop.  I was humbled and honored to be apart of  an organization that raised so much money for many worthwhile causes and scholarships.  Boy oh boy did The Chosun raise funds!

The Chosun was allowed to purchase and import items from other countries in Asia just not from Korea.  Those countries that the board deemed safe for the buyers to travel to and shop in, I should say.  Many times while the buyers were in China they were able to purchase items from Mongolia.  So for today's Blue Monday post I would like to show you all a wonderful pair of baby shoes from Mongolia.  I just love these sweet little shoes....

I sure did enjoy my time at The Chosun.  Many happy and fun memories were made within the walls of that gift shop.

Now just because Mother's Day is fast approaching I thought I would share will ya'll one more piece of blue.
My husband purchased this beautiful Wedgwood plate for my very first Mother's Day. My oldest child, Daniel, was born January, 1989 in Frankfurt, Germany.  I was so young, 21 years old, and so far from home.  Most of the first few years of his life it was just him and I as hubby was constantly deployed.    BUT somehow that sweet little child managed to survive my first attempts at motherhood and at the end of this week will finish up his junior year at the University of Kentucky.  To my Daniel, thanks for leading the way into what has by far been the best years of my life...motherhood. :)

Happy Blue Monday! Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice note. I'm glad my post brought back good memories!! I'm so thankful for our military - thank y'all for your service! Our family has service years all over it and I'm proud of that! Sounds like you had a great time and that you did right in being a mom. Doesn't life hand you some blessings! Well, I guess I should correct that God hands us some blessings, doesn't He? Thanks, Jenn
