Kitchen Reveal

Brace yourselves, as there are lots of pictures.

Our new kitchen isn't for everyone, I know.  BUT for us it is perfect.

It is warm.

It is cozy.

It showcases some of my collections(I held back on putting a lot out.)

AND last but not least hubby was able to show me some of his hidden talents like painting
and working with power tools.  I love being married to a soldier but I have found being
married to a man that knows how to use power tools is quite nice too!

Lets begin the tour and I'm going to let the pictures do the talking(mostly!)
You can click on any picture to enlarge.

Before

Nice kitchen but not really what I wanted.  Definitely needed to replace the counter tops.

After

We added:
glass doors to the cabinet above the sink
painted the walls a lovely shade of green
added bead boarding to the walls in the dine-in-eating area
new granite counter tops, uba tuba

Also, found at Goodwill a larger table and chairs and refinished and painted it all black

before

After

More shots of some of the decorating

We love our new kitchen!!

Our washing machine broke this weekend.
Our dryer has been trying to go on to its great reward for a year or so.
We purchased a new set yesterday.  Thursday is the delivery day.
Between now and Thursday I hope to have the laundry room painted.
Soon I'll be showing everyone the before and after in that room.

For now, we rest...

remnants of all his hard work is still visible on Oliver's face!!

Fondly,
Ann

Ann... it is WONDERFUL! I love every part and especially the beadboard... love beadboard. I had DH put it in our DR in the other house.

The green walls look so nice with the cabinets. And the table and chairs! WOW! Great job with those. (Glad you changed the light fixture.)

Beautiful, beautiful! Only have a sec, but I'll be back to look again at all the pics!

...Karen

...and don't be too hard on the little guy. They just like to "help." :-)

...and your appliances in the kitchen look new so there should not be a "suicide pact" amongst the appliances. Seems when one goes, they all follow.

Your kitchen and breakfast room looks great! I love the color scheme! The baskets stacked in the corner and wonderful. And that collection of rolling pins is awesome. You left no detail untouched! I hope you are enjoying your new home!

Oh Ann, the new kitchen is totally and completely CHARMING! The special details and especially the references to Georgia and home are subtle, yet so meaningful. Well done! I cannot wait to feel the effects of your cozy kitchen in person. xoxo

This looks beautiful. I like everything. The color pallet is so fresh - never though of using that combination in a kitchen but it works beautifully. Table and chairs: great, the black is a perfect accent. You certainly have interesting and varied collections, it must be nice to be able to put them all out now. It looks to me that you as well as Oliver need a little rest.(-: Super-duper job by all!

The table looks great and fits the space so nicely. Good job on the beadboard. Looks like it has always been there. Way to go Ron!!!!
At least now, you can enjoy each holiday and not have to focus on the Christmas decorations so early in the fall................
