Blue Monday

Well folks, we are at the start of yet another week.  Let's all make it a great one!  To start the week off I'm posting a few pictures of some blue "treasures" that I have acquired over the past several years.

First, is this cute little blue covered candy dish.  I am assuming it is a candy dish, as it is much to small to be a serving dish.  I just had to purchase this one...my hubby's rank in the military is the same symbol, an eagle.  Had to have it for him.  Again, he just thanked me so much, just like the milk cream spout I posted a few days ago. I do try my best to remember him while I'm out making my purchases. : )

Oops, seems as if I cut off the top part of the lid when taking this photo!

Next up, is part of a George and Martha Washington Avon goblet set.  Five years ago we lived on land that once was part of Mount Vernon, George and Martha's famous estate on the Potomac River in Alexandria, VA.  That was all I needed to know to validate my want for these goblets.  I have 12 of Martha and 12 of George.  Also, have the creamer  and 24 small size luncheon plates.  Nope, I never used them the 4 years we lived in Mount Vernon.  But, had to have them!!!

My mom has the salt and pepper shakers that match this set.

And finally for today I present to you all a very bad picture of a wonderful tea set that I also purchased during our Virginia time.  I just love the ship detail.  You know lots of ships once went up and down the Potomac River, or so I told my husband. : )

In closing, I'd like to say, that my hubby certainly isn't dumb, and he sees right through all the justification I am constantly presenting to him.  Hi, my name is Ann, and I like stuff....lots and lots of stuff!!

Please head on over to Smiling Sally's blog to have a look at so many other great blue photos.

Happy Monday to all!

Hi Ann. I wanted to stop by to say thank you for your lovely sweet comment about the shower. Yes others said how beautiful everything was but you added the thought to take time to relax. If I really added up my time and what I was paid, I probably earned $1.00 an hour. It was fun though. I really enjoyed creating and cooking. Thank you again for such a sweet comment, it really made my day.

Hi Ann!
I love your collection of blue! I especially like the George and Martha Washington Avon set. I remember visiting Mount Vernon several years ago and I loved it there. The land around it is beautiful and I love the history there. It sounds like you have had the opportunity to live in some really wonderful places! Lucky you!

I am just catching up on my Blue Monday visits...hope yours was a happy one!
