It's A Southern Thang Y'all!!

Nothing says "the south" to me more than peaches.  They are my favorite fruit( followed closely by watermelon.)

I love to make peach cobbler...mmmm so delicious.

BUT, my favorite way to eat peaches is to slice them, sprinkle a little sugar on them, let them sit for a few minutes and then serve a heaping spoonful over a piece of pound cake.  This is the way both of my grandmothers served "the peach".

Peach orchards abound in my part of Georgia-Carolina.  My parents went to their favorite peach stand and purchased a basket full last week.  I was a happy gal when my daddy brought over a bag full. : )

I'm so glad to be back home!

Ha ha! I know what you mean about them peaches. MMMM-MMMM! We passed many a stand on the way up to VA today and yesterday (on our drive toward Maine). BTW, we had dinner out with Dawn M and family last night. Their new house is awesome.

I love the idea of your wonderful Daddy bringing you a bag of peaches. My Dad was into toting home donuts. What I wouldn't give to see those big green eyes twinkling over a box of those Dunkins just one more time! Savor the flavor of those peaches for me -- they're sweet in more ways than one. xoxo

Yummy! I love peaches too and I live in a huge stone fruit part of the country. I my home town used to be knows as the Home of the Peach. Now we're the Raisin Capital. I have got to go get some more. Do you get Martha Stewart Living? They have an article in the July issue about a farm not very farm from where I live where they grow the best organic peaches.

Chris, my dad would also bring home doughntuts for us. What a wonderful memory that is. He used to put them in the oven and when our oldest was 3 or 4 he would always find them there!
Ann, enjoy being home and making all kinds of memories with your parents and sister. Something to cherish for sure!
